THE FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI - 11th June 2023
My Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In the Holy Eucharist we obey Jesus’ command to eat and drink in His memory. But it is so much more than that. As well as leaving us a permanent and effective memorial of His life, death and resurrection - it is a true Sacrifice and as a Sacrament it truly becomes what it signifies - we are fed with Christ Himself, His Body and Blood, His soul and divinity, truly and substantially present. And through our consuming of this precious gift we welcome Christ our God into our hearts and souls where His grace works on our inward being, feeding and strengthening us for the journey we make through this life and preparing us for the next.
